Give us a glimpse into your life story so far with an emphasis on what you are doing currently?
Born in Mozambique and soon moved to South Africa with his parents who were economic migrants. They were forced back due to increased xenophobic attacks towards Mozambicans. Started surfing at 14 as an escape and progressed quickly. A significant life moment was when Tom Hewitt and his team from Surfers Not Street Children came up from Durban to inspire and come alongside surfers who had experienced hardships growing up. This connection inspired Mini to become the first and only pro surfer from Mozambique and has led him to become a Director of the Surfers Not Street Children.

What wonder of the natural world excites you the most?
The Ocean as a source of food, income, escape and therapy.

Surfers Not Street Children and their programs that supports hundreds of young people every day.
