Tower Bridge London
Q2: Life
Give us a glimpse into your life story so far with an emphasis on what you are doing currently?
For 20 years plus now I've been making and designing in the realm of tables and furniture and so on but once in a while, I have an idea about about a boat and so get my amazing design team, I'm like, 'stop! it's time for a palate cleanser'. Forget furniture, forget everything. Here's this idea for a boat and we're going to spend one day taking my little tiny sketch and make it into an amazing photorealistic render, as to something that gets this idea across. That day, I designed a boat made of bamboo that had solar panels on the top and electric drive train, and I just thought it'd be a great idea to have take this sort of ancient, prehistoric technology for making boats, you know, and then fix that with the most up to date technology to make something undeniably green because the people that are making electric cars and green cars and these are things I love and everything interesting. So I spent the last couple of years developing it and it kind of taken on a life of its own and as soon as anything sort of leaks out about it. People want to join up like Cuca robotics who make the big robot arms and make all the cars and stuff. They're like, Oh, we love it. We've had City University and companies who want to come in on the drive power train. So when you're doing something that challenging, experimental and that original, you find other like minded people and these insurmountable issues suddenly become doable,

An apartment in Southern Spain

The huge waves at Nazare in Portugal
Q5: Hopefulness
What is your story of hopefulness (not your own) about a person, business or non-profit who are doing amazing things for the world?
Youtuber Mr Beast building 100 wells for schools and communities across Africa.
Q6: Insight
As we prepare to re-enter, what insight, wisdom or question would you like to share with us?
As an artist that you're always used to feast and famine. A very quiet period that goes on for too long forces the question, Is the way that we're going, the way I really want to go? Have I just been putting out fires too long without actually taking coordinates seeing how far off course we've drifted from our original goals and where we wanted to be. How many decades have I got left? You can keep going in a direction just because it's financially successful or even critically successful or you shed all that and say, that's done, and move forwards and try a different way of doing things.
