Episode Summary
Q1: Place
If we could do a flypast on any part of the world that is significant to you, which place, city or country would it be and why?
Myanmar and Jordan
Q2: Life
Give us a glimpse into your life story so far with an emphasis on what you are doing currently?
So we met in 2018 in an entrepreneurship seminar and we bonded over the fact that we wanted to start something with a purpose. From that we explored different avenues like mental health and homelessness and working with charities. Then we eventually formulated a business model around socks that give back to local vulnerable communities. So today we do employment advice for people experiencing homelessness and we've got an upcoming event with vulnerable single mothers. We also do like care packages. as well as lots of homeless shelters need clean socks, underwear, toiletries, or a hot meal. I think there's something just so amazing about being able to build a brand that can get your community and customers to be a part of that giving side.
Q3: Reset
Where on earth is your place or reset or re-charge?
Our days are always fast paced and filled with technology so being out in nature is important.
Q4: Wonder
What wonder of the natural world excites you the most?
Everyone is different, beautiful and unique in their own ways. So through Laiho and also just through life, we've learned that it's our diverse range of skills and unique talents and collective efforts that can really change the world for the better.
Q5: Hopefulness
What is your story of hopefulness (not your own) about a person, business or non-profit who are doing amazing things for the world?
AR Projects provide warm meals and essential supplies to hundreds of people every week through their three soup kitchens, which act as portable hubs. These hubs are supporting those in need in various ways, including food, clothing, hygiene, mental health, and more. In addition, they provide a virtual food bank that is of great help to the working poor. This allows recipients to select the items they need and collect them from one of our various hubs.
Q6: Insight
As we prepare to re-enter, what insight, wisdom or question would you like to share with us?
What can we as human beings really do to make a difference in this world? Ask more questions and just learn from people because everyone has a really unique and fascinating story.
