I grew up in a family with a Jamaican father who was quite strict and patriarchal with a lot of sexist ideas about my role as a woman and my power as a woman. And that really spurred me on in many different ways to challenge what what was expected of me. Fast forward many years, I am now running an international charity that really focuses on the mobilisation of the most marginalised girls in the Global South, to find their voice, to connect with their voice, to know what it sounds like, and then to learn how to use it to create the change that they want to see in their own communities.
